Ms. Maxine M. Coleman, a native of Noxapater, MS and a resident of Moss Point, MS, was born November 23, 1957 in St. Louis Missouri to the late Willie Moore Sr. and Etta T. Graham Moore. She peacefully passed this life Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS surrounded by her family of four loving children at her bedside, Telvis, Latona, Felisha and Jeremiah Coleman.
She graduated from Noxapater High school in 1975 and was known as one of the fastest tracks and field runner in her town. At an early age she united with the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. There she served until she moved to Moss Point, MS. Also known as Minister Maxine Moore Coleman received her Ministerial License at the Step of Faith Community Church where she served for many years under the leadership of Apostle Terry Coleman and Pastor Larry Abney. Her Church and Missionary Ministry include: Faith Chapel C.O.G.I.C Pastor James and First Lady/ Missionary Doretha Goodman Watch Care ministry; Singing River Health and Rehabilitation Center; Kairos Prison Ministry. Also, served at Calling All Christians; Meridian Street Baptist Church (past). Maxine Moore Coleman had a Professional career as an Insurance agent and Mary Kay representative and AARP representative.
Her spirit was as beautiful as the flowers that she always loved! She always believed firmly in the scriptures John 4:8 “He that loved not knoweth not for God, For God is Love”; Ref: 1 Timothy 5:8, 1 Corinthians 5:6. As a wise and nurturing lady and mother she expressed her love for God and people through volunteering at the Jackson County Senior Companion, praying, singing, ministering helping the sick and shut-in, food drives, her hobbies as baking, cooking and childcare.
Maxine Coleman is survived by her former husband Terry Coleman; her four loving children Telvis, Latona, Felisha, and Jeremiah Coleman; grandchildren, Melvisha and Jeremiah E. Summers and Jamyah Cunningham Coleman; siblings, Benedetta Moore Coburn, Leroy Moore, Willie Moore Jr., Dana Hill Dancy and Reginald Hill; niece(s) and nephew(s), Kanika and Ladren Coburn, and a host of loved ones, significant & presumed friends, associates, coworkers, etcetera. The works Maxine Moore Coleman has done through Christ Jesus and Love she shown to everyone that encountered her will be cherished!
